Some observations on the biology and distribution of Morimus asper (Sulzer, 1776) (Coleóptera: Cerambycidae) in the Iberian Península

RESUMEN
Se estudia la distribución de M. asper en las provincias fitogeográficas Cantabroatlántica y Orocantábrica (RIVAS-MART?_NEZ, 1987), según las series de vegetación registradas y la altitud. Abordamos también el origen biogeográfico de los tres representantes europeos del género, así como la penetración de M. asper en la Península Ibérica. Respecto a la biología, los autores ofrecen una serie de datos sobre fitohuéspedes, etología, fenología, reproducción y ontogenia de M. asper.
ABSTRACT
We have studied the distribution of M. asper in the phytogeographic provinces Cantabroatlantic and Orocantabric (RIVAS-MART?_NEZ, 1987), according to the heigth and the botanic series recorded. Also we comment the biogeographic origin of the european forms from this genus, as well as the M. asper?__s entry in the Iberian Peninsula. With regard to biology, the authors offer a series of fates over phytoguests, etology, phenology, reproduction and ontogeny of M. asper.
