RESUMEN
El estudio de la constitución del saco interno del edeago de las especies del subgénero Mesocarabus Thomson, 1875, de la Península Ibérica permite señalar tres grupos de especies: dufouri, macrocephalus y lusitanicus. Se proponen los siguientes cambios: restablecer el status de especie para Carabus (M.) latus Dejean, 1826. Elevar al rango de especie a C. (M.) cantabricus Chevrolat, 1840. Se restablece la sinonimia C. (M.) macrocephalus barcelecoanus Lapouge, 1924 = C. (M.) cantabricus brabeus Schaufuss, 1862 (comb. nov). Se demuestra que la subespecie baguenai Breuning, 1926 del SE de España pertenece a la especie C. (M.) dufouri Dejean, 1829, y no a la especie C. (M.) lusitanicus Fabricius, 1801.
ABSTRACT
After studying the characteristics of the internal sac structure of the species of the subgenus Mesocarabus Thomson, 1875, from the Iberian Peninsula, we have distinguished three different groups of species: dufouri, macrocephalus and lusitanicus. We propose the following taxonomical changes: re-establishing species status to Carabus (M.) latus Dejean, 1826 and upgrading species status to (M.) cantabricus Chevrolat, 1840. The following new synonymy is established: C. (M.) macrocephalus barcelecoanus Lapouge, 1924 = C. (M.) cantabricus brabeus Schaufuss, 1862 (comb. nov). As demonstrated, ssp. baguenai Breuning, 1926 from the SE of Spain refers to Carabus (M.) dufouri Dejean, 1829, and not to C. (M.) lusitanicus Fabricius, 1801.[otroregistro]
