En este trabajo quedan registradas ocho especies de bombílidos del género Thyridanthrax Osten Sacken, 1886 presentes en el área ibero-balear. Se examina material de todas ellas, revisándose gran parte de las citas previas. Se amplía el conocimiento sobre la distribución de las especies citadas en el área estudiada. Se proporciona información sobre su distribución general, así como sobre algunos datos relativos a sus hospedadores, si se dispone de ellos. Se designan lectotipo y paralectotipos de T. loitstaui Andreu, 1961, y se dan a conocer por primera vez las características morfológicas de la terminalia de esta especie. Se describe una especie nueva para la ciencia, T. alphonsi, hallada en la Península Ibérica (España y Portugal). Se elabora una clave de identificación con ilustraciones para las especies ibero-baleares de este género.

In this paper, eight bombyliid species belonging to the genus Thyridanthrax Osten Sacken, 1886 from Iberian-Balearic área are registered. Material of all of them is examined, being revised the previous records in great part. The knowledge on distribution of recorded species in the studied área is extended. Information on their overall distribution, as well as references on host data if disposable, are given. Lectotype and paralectotypes are designated for T. loustaui Andreu, 1961, and the morphological features of the terminalia of this species are studied for first time. A new species is described, T. alphonsi, found in the Iberian Península (Spain and Portugal). A key with illustrations to Iberian-Balearic species of this genus is presented.
