Los autores realizan un estudio preliminar de los Sílfidos en la provincia fitogeográfica Orocantábrica (España) que será publicado en tres partes. El presente trabajo comprende unas consideraciones generales acerca de los objetivos, antecedentes, límites geográficos de la Orocantábrica, material y métodos de estudio y un inventario de las especies de la tribu Necrophorini. Son cinco las especies de Necrophorus localizadas en la zona de estudio. De cada una se analiza la distribución geográfica, la densidad relativa y la variación fenológica en los meses de estudio; finalizando con un análisis de la influencia del paisaje vegetal sobre la presencia de las diferentes especies de Necrophorus.

The Silpidae Family (Col.) from the phytogeographical Orocantabirca province. I. Study Area and Necrophorine Tribe. A preliminary study on the Silpidae from the phytogeographical orocantabrian province (spain) has been made. This study will be published in three parts. The present work includes a general account about the objetives, antecedents, geographical limits of the orocantabrian area, the collected material and the research methods and a check-list of the species of Necrophorini. Five species of Necrophorus were localised an the selected zone. Of every one we analyze the geographical distribution, relative dnesity and phenological variation in the different months of study. Finally, we point out the influence of the botanical features of the countryside on the presence of the Necrophorus species.
