En este artículo se estudia como la distribución espacial de las arañas está condicionada por la arquitectura interna del piornal serrano, ecosistema de matorral mediterráneo dominado por Cytisus oromediterraneus. Abarcando las tres dimensiones del espacio, se han caracterizado las arañas que utilizan cinco estratos espaciales distintos: clorofílico superficial, clorofílico profundo, ramas y cepa sobre el piorno, y el estrato herbáceo que separa las matas de piorno. Se comprueba que existe buena separación espacial y funcional de nichos a nivel de especie, siendo unas arañas más estenoicas que otras respecto al factor "estructura interna del piornal". La mayor diversidad ecológica corresponde a la zona de ramificación, mientras que el espacio más rico en especies y abundante en ejemplares es el estrato fotosintético superficial. La posición de cada araña en el piornal está muy relacionada con el método que utiliza para capturar presas y con los lugares óptimos para construir cada tipo de tela.

This paper deals with how the three-dimensional distribution of spiders is conditioned by the internal architecture of Cytisus ominediterraneus Rivas Mart. et al., 1984, dominant species of Mediterranean mountain scrubland. Covering three space dimensions, the spiders that use the five different spatial strata on the bushes, have been classified: superficial chlorophyllic, profound chlorophyllic, branches and central stump, and the herbaceous stratum that separates the bushes. It is conñrmed that a good spatial and functional separation of niches exists among the species and in the guild level. The main ecological diversity is found in the branching zone, while the richest in species and abundant in specimens is the superficial photosynthetic stratum. They are not distributed at random in the habitat, but according to distribution patterns of the habitat that avoid exccssive contact.
